How will I know when my story is posted as part of "The Face of MS"?
Once your story - video or text - has been processed, the National MS Society will send a notification e-mail to the email address you provided.

Why can't I find my image?
"The Face of MS" is an ongoing, ever-changing mosaic of faces. As new faces are added, the mosaic is rebuilt. Your "face" may have changed position since the last time you looked. You may locate your story through the "Explore the Stories" navigation.

It's been over a day and my story is still not up yet. How come?
There may be multiple reasons why your story has not been posted. Video stories take a longer time for us to review than text and photo stories. Mail-in stories take even longer for us to receive. We may have received a large number of entries all at once.

Please be patient. If your story does not appear in a month's time, you may contact faceofms@nmss.org for further information.

What will you do with the information I have given you?
Information directly related to your story will be displayed (with only Last Name Initial for minors) Email addresses are used solely to communicate with you regarding your story.

How can I change my story once it is posted?
You will need to send an e-mail to faceofms@nmss.org indicating that you will want your old story taken down. You will then need to re-process the story as if it were new.

How can I take my story down?
Please send an e-mail explaining exactly which story to faceofms@nmss.org. Please be patient. It may take several weeks to accomplish.

None of the themes really suits the story I want to tell. What should I do?
Select the theme that is closest to your story. The themes simply facilitate browsing. You may talk about your true theme in your story text or indicate it in the title.

The video is choppy. How can I fix it?
If a video doesn't play continuously it may be due to your connection speed. Please note that a broadband connection with 500+ Kbps is required for continuous playback.

It is also possible that your video download speed is slow or inconsistent. In this case, you can try pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded, then play the video.

Why is there a limit on size?
Playing audio and video files over the Internet is a lot more complicated then playing files locally on your PC. Because of bandwidth restrictions, specifically for dial-up users, large files can take a long time, up to hours, to load and play over the Internet. We cap file sizes so that it doesn't take users 4 hours to load your clip.
